Welcome!

We are Jason and Pam, founders of The Coco Project. Our story is series of wonderful, heartbreaking, and complicated circumstances, all leading to this endeavor.

The Coco Project was born in the long, sacred stretch of loving a medically complex child. Our son, Nico, spent much of his life in the hospital, quietly teaching everyone around him what it looks like to carry joy in the middle of suffering. In those places, we came to know the nearness of God—not as an idea, but as a steady presence—because “the Lord is near to the brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18), and we were not left alone.

The name “Coco” was first spoken by his sister, Emily, when she was learning to talk and couldn’t quite say “Nico.” Like many things born out of love, it stayed—and in time, it became the name for the work we felt called to carry forward.

What began as a family learning to live among monitors, alarms, and sleepless nights has become something more. The Coco Project exists to make sure no family walks that road alone—to bear witness to the reality that even in deep grief, God is present, sustaining, and still at work. At its core, The Coco Project is Nico’s story, stretched wide enough to shelter others.

Thank you for joining us here.
